Hi, I’m Reet Kaur Sagoo, the artist and designer behind Kauraline.
I’m a multidisciplinary artist with a BFA in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Born in the U.S. and shaped by a childhood split between American and Indian cultures, I developed a deep appreciation for storytelling through material, culture, and design.
My approach to art and textile design blends traditional craft with modern curiosity. I specialize in creating tactile, narrative-driven work that draws from historical references, cultural heritage, and contemporary trends, often exploring themes of identity, memory, and displacement. Whether I’m curating visual narratives, researching trends, or creating immersive experiences, I approach each project with emotion, intention, and an eye for detail.
Kauraline is a name I created from my middle name Kaur, meaning “princess” or “lioness.” It’s my personal bridge between two cultures; a name that honors both my South Asian roots and my Western upbringing. Through Kauraline, I aim to create work that connects, resonates, and lives at the intersection of aesthetics and meaning.
